Rose Red Review, which previously published some of my poetry in their spring 2015 issue, now features some of my visual art in their newly-released spring 2016 issue!

Swan Prince - Ruth Daniell

The paintings are from a series exploring fairy tale animals. “Swan Prince” is, I am delighted to report, on the cover of the new issue. You can find “Bear King” elsewhere in the issue!

I hope you’ll check out the whole issue. The editor, Larissa Nash, curates a lovely collection each issue. My thanks for her continuing support. Also shout-out to Alexis Oak, who’s been prodding me not to neglect my visual art projects. Thanks!

Alright, back I go to my many writing projects. I hope to see all of you in Vancouver on April 29 for the launch of Boobs.

One Throne Issue 4 WinterHappy winter solstice to you all! I am pleased we have reached the shortest day of the year, but also thrilled that today is the day that One Throne Magazine published their winter issue. It features my Pushcart Prize nominated poem, “Love and Nail Polish.” I am so excited that you can all read it now!

One Throne Issue 4 small imageI am so grateful for the faith and dedication of the editors of One Throne, for publishing my poem, for the Pushcart Prize nomination, and for the gorgeous artwork they chose to feature alongside my poem. Go check it out right now; Sandara has drawn an ethereal and moody harpy who is painting her toenails–and it is perfect! Go visit One Throne‘s main website to check all the other excellent visual art, stories, and poems in the issue. And, of course, read my poem and feel free to share it if you like it (I hope you like it!).

(Already read the poem? Curious about the nail polish colours mentioned in the poem? It looks like the Color Club Pride collection is discontinued, but you can still get Watermelon and Matte About You from Essie, if you’re into that sort of thing!)

Speaking of nail polish… I’m between manicures right now, but you can be sure I’m going to be breaking out all the holiday glitter very soon!

I hope the season is bringing health and happiness to you and all your loved ones!

Dec 21 14 snow

I’m home for the holidays, and this morning my family and I woke up to fresh snow! It’s magical!
